My faith was that the Divine will make the right choice, but when Trump won, for some time I had questioned my faith, but afterwords I myself realized that faith can not be questioned if it was genuine. And after that I became calm. I realized my ‘faith’ was for short term. Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga is not for individual but for the whole humanity. Yes, many of my friends from India are happy the Trump won because his policies are good for India. But us, who are trying to walk the spiritual path, shouldn’t we concentrate on morality of the leader? And Trump is totally amoral person. For Mexicans who are crossing the border illegally,he calls them animals, his quotes about women are so demeaning they make me cringe. When White supremacists attacked some black people, Trump, when he was President, said, they, white suprematists were “good people”. When he wanted to go take a picture in front of this particular church, he ordered police officers to spray tear gas on people who were peacefully holding a protest rally. On Jan 6th when his supporters marched on Capitol, and when they were chanting kill Mike Pence, his VP, he sat in front of TV without saying a word! So even if he might make some right decisions, shouldn’t we chose our leader who has some moral value😫? I am not saying Harris is an angel, but she definitely was better of the two.

Why not doubt one’s own understanding and opinion instead of doubting the Divine? The Divine does not care about morality in picking up His instruments. Churchill and Napolean were far from moral, idealistic characters but were strong Divine instruments. On the other hand Gandhi who claimed to be moral actually ended up hindering the Divine Plan by pushing out Sardar Patel in favour of Nehru and dividing the country. The spiritual and moral are two different things. Morality is man made and based on our human ideas of right and wrong. Spirituality is based on the Divine Vision of things that sees the larger plan and has a deeper and comprehensive Vision.
