AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok da, what’s the best biographical work on Sri Aurobindo that covers various phases of his life🧐? Should I bother myself with the biography written by Peter heehs?

Peter Heehs biography is, in my view, misleading and diabolic. I have already written much about it earlier.  There are several beautiful biographies from which you can select.

Rishabh Chand: Sri Aurobindo, His Life Unique is best for the pre-Pondicherry period.

Satprem: Adventure of Consciousness is wonderful from the presentation of ideas.

AB Purani: Life of Sri Aurobindo is a standard biography, compact and comprehensive.

KR Srinivas Iyengar: Sri Aurobindo is quite good and exhaustive.

There are others but these four are factual and very good.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
