AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

There are so many rumors about the virgin Mary. I have heard she was Indian and a Buddhist. Is that true? What was she🤔?

I doubt these stories. Not much is known about her authentically. But the story of Christ coming to India and learning Buddhism as well as travelling to Jagganath Puri to learn the Vaishnava bhakti seems quite plausible. It is partly these stories that are the basis of some of these rumours. It is the common element of compassion that draws the comparison.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
