AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I don’t want to get married, but my single mother wants me to get married. I do want to get a job, but unable to get any. I don’t want to hurt my mother, but I know that I can’t handle married life. 😭[…]

She wants me to go to the temple, but I want to go to the Relics Shrine every day. I shout at her and immediately feel bad for hurting her. Should I do a job or not? What should I do? Help me Dada, please.

One should not get married just to satisfy and fulfil parents’ wishes. One should instead address their worries by showing them that you are a strong, capable, independent person who does not need anyone. For that, your first necessity is to be financially independent. Besides taking up a job will also help you to be productive and keep your mind in focus. Going to the Relics centre is fine, but you must also take up some service.

Getting angry at your mother will only complicate things. Find the inner causes of anger and root them out. Most important is to stay busy and do some regular physical exercises.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Why was his identity only revealed to him at the end of his life? 🏹
