AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Do problems/difficulties exist in the world and in everyone’s life because we are not seeking the Divine?

Everyone has difficulties in life, whether one is seeking the Divine or not. Even those who have found the Divine have their own share of difficulties. The difference however lies in the way one understands and meets these difficulties. To the one who is not seeking anything higher and for whom the goal of life is to be happy, the difficulties seem like unsurmountable blocks on the way. One spends life struggling, complaining, snatching, grabbing or begging for doles of happiness from life and people and even from God. But for one who seeks for God, Light, Truth and higher things, difficulties become opportunities for progress, the rough and rugged stones blocking the path become stepping stones on the way to reach the summits, the difficulties become challenges for new learning and even a Grace that keeps one focused on the path.

But none can escape them. They are due to the imperfect nature of earthly life that is ignorant of its goal and limited in every way. It is only through a progressive transformation of earthly life and of the human body itself that one can escape from all difficulties and problems. But that is still a work in progress and will be materialised one day. Until then the difficulties will be there as a reminder that we have still to progress, and there are miles to go…….

Affectionately,

Alok Da
