There is no one way. Different people read differently. Some prefer reading aloud, a little at a time, then reflecting in a quiet inner state. For others, listening or reading with someone helps to get a feel and the context. If one reads again, then the inner sense begins to emerge better as the mind is not lost in trying to make sense of the background. Whatever helps you connect with Savitri is good.
