AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Quite a few conventions are broken by the Mother and Sri Aurobindo. 1. The Mother appearing on the right side of Sri Aurobindo. Traditionally, Divine Mother’s aspects appear on the left of the Purusha (ex: Sita, Lakshmi, Parvathi). 2. Anti-clockwise climbing of stairs inside the Matri Mandir. 🌅🪷 […]

3. Breakage of Vastu norms in the Ashram building.

4. Non-observance of inauspicious Panchanga timings such as Rahu Kaalam, Yamagantam, etc.

And perhaps many others.

I am hoping you would be able to talk about these both individually and collectively at one of your talks at Matrusadan. Do these things just represent breaking of old conventions, or are they the result of a deeper change and mark the creation of a new set of conventions?

It is a complete freedom from the past, from the world as organised by the gods. This clean slate is needed to make a clear ground for the New Creation.

The release from the conventions is the release from the laws and norms of the old creation. It is akin to the story of Daksha Prajapati, whose laws and norms are overturned by Shiva and the sacrifice of Mata Sati.

The right side implies right dynamic action, Dakshina. It is the dynamic impulsion of the Divine.

Will give a talk sometime on the subject, though I have touched it in different talks.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
