AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sir, if thoughts are coming from different planes of consciousness and pushing us to act, then how can we think about a specific topic and think along a certain line deliberately? (Like reading a certain subject and deliberating upon it, planning about the future, etc). ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿชถ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ‹

Our consciousness draws the corresponding vibrations from the world around based on its state. Generally, it draws these vibrations through affinity and then they get translated in us as thoughts, impulsions, passions, waves of emotion, etc. They wear the costume of thought using the language that the mind has learnt and the brain has stored.ย

Now meditation is the process with which we control this random inflow of vibrations by consciously concentrating upon an idea, and directing the thoughts that flow into us in the intended direction. Our will and concentration of consciousness acts to draw certain vibrations and reject others. These take the form of thoughts within us.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Namaste Alok da. I was reading the ‘Bhawani Mandir’ under Vandemataram, where Sri Aurobindo said, “We will therefore build a temple to the white Bhawani, the mother of strength…” and said that the mandir would be built away from the modern cities, etc. Did he mean to build the physical mandir? And if so, was it built? Or is it more in the subtle space over India? Please could you shed some light? ๐Ÿ›•๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒธ
