This theory is being questioned now and something newer and better is being contemplated. It is the cyclic nature of the universe. In simple terms, it implies that the concentrated energy is itself the result of the collapse of a previous universe.Β
The question is whether this Energy is of purely inconscient material in its nature or capable of creating several other universes, each with a different Time Space continuum and substance with its own unique laws and properties, a many-tiered multiverse, so to speak. And then the question of questions, if it is all just Energy and Matter, then what is Consciousness? Sri Aurobindo points us deeper.
‘Science and the Unknowable
In occult depths grow Nature’s roots unshown;
ββββEach visible hides its base in the unseen,
ββββEven the invisible guards what it can mean
In a yet deeper invisible, unknown.
Man’s science builds abstractions cold and bare
ββββAnd carves to formulas the living whole;
ββββIt is a brain and hand without a soul,
A piercing eye behind our outward stare.
The objects that we see are not their form,
ββββA mass of forces is the apparent shape;
ββββPursued and seized, their inner lines escape
In a vast consciousness beyond our norm.
Follow and you shall meet abysses still,
Infinite, wayless, mute, unknowable.’
