AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

After a difficult period adjusting my medications, I am now stable on a working treatment plan and preparing to attend the Sri Aurobindo Birthday darshan. ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒฟ[…]

During my previous transition, I experienced intense spiritual paranoia, and while I feel much safer now, I want to handle this visit mindfully. What practical or spiritual steps do you recommend if disturbing thoughts arise, and are such harrowing experiences a necessary part of progress in Integral Yoga?

Usually, these things come because of fear as well as some hereditary predisposition. What helps is sincerity and humility. The one practical method is taking the Divine Name in whatever faith one has. In the Integral Yoga, we take the Mother’s Name very simply as Maa Maa Maa Maa Maa Maa in the heart.

I am glad you are back to base. Make sure you have a balanced, healthy routine and stay busy. And yes, do not entertain fear in any form. The quieter the mind becomes, the better it is. So avoid excessive calculations or fears and keep turning to the Mother. Doubts and fears are indeed the worst enemies that open the gates to these adverse forces.

My prayers are with you

Affectionately,ย

Alok Da

How can i purify my relationship with the Mother? Asking the Divine for too many things seems selfish and at the same time if i make a promise to myself that i will not ask unnecessary things and face difficulties myself seems not the right thing to do. Pranam Sir. I want to ask about how to deal with negative anticipations, thoughts, and expectations in our daily life. One of my colleagues always targeting me and quarreling with me over each minor issue or mistake and even insults me in front of juniors. He is visually challenged. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ[…]

The best way is to completely ignore him, and if you cannot do so then remain inwardly totally indifferent to him. The best response to people who are hypercritical is complete indifference. The more you try to explain, the more they justify. The more you concede, the more they increase the criticism. But indifference completely flattens them…

What does the chant “OM SHANTI” truly signifyโ€”is peace merely the repetition of a sacred word, or a state to be deeply imbibed within the heart? We often define peace simply as the absence of external conflict, agitation, or turbulence, but this surface calmness is only temporary and amounts to nothing more than restraining turbulent emotions. What, then, constitutes real, unshakable inner peace, and how can one truly attain and sustain it? ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Peace is not an absence of disturbance. Even inertia is free from disturbance. Peace is something positive and powerful, a fundamental foundational status of the Divine, seemingly equal and non-reactive like Shiva bearing and upholding the dance of Kali upon his chest or the ocean holding its tremendous energy by its own power of self-limitation. maryada. It is a state of concentrated ingatheredness like the mountains or a vast Silence …
