Are Self-respect and Ego the same? 🪞🙏🏻

Self-respect is one of the forms of the ego. It could be a sattwic or a rajo-sattwic ego, but an ego reaction nonetheless. The soul never feels insulted or has any need to defend its respect. One who lives for the Divine is not affected by human opinions. The only thing that matters is closeness to the Divine. The insults and opinions of human beings carries no importance to the seeker and lover of the Divine.

Affectionately,
