AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Can girls and boys not just be only friends🤨? Like it’s always that one person develops romantic feelings and then it complicates everything – why is this so? Is there no such thing as mutual platonic relationship without one person wanting something romantic? [Conti]

I’ve always thought that boys and girls can’t JUST be friends but then sort of accepted what the world told me and all called me narrow minded…but from my own experience I really don’t think and now am realising perhaps there is actually no such thing as a completely romantic hue free friendship between opposite genders? Thoughts?

It is possible provided one takes sufficient precaution of not meeting alone in private spaces and sufficient physical distance is maintained. Too much physical closeness including touch, etc can act as trigger for arousing the animal instincts. Of course if a long time passes without triggering these feelings, then generally a healthy friendship is possible. But it is safer not to tempt the animal who lurks inside the subconscient parts.

Romance is a different thing. Some have it in them, some don’t.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dear Da, I’m a single child. I always have this question: why don’t I have a sibling with whom I can share things? Also, my parents have a greater realisation of the Divine, so whenever I try something out of spirituality or try to get mixed with society, they get to know things from within and always doubt my intentions and try to keep me under their influence. 😢🌸👨🏻‍👩🏻‍👧🏻‍👦🏻🍃[…]

I want to know if The Mother refers to Sri Aurobindo as ‘Lord’? And so, when They say, the aim of life is to know the Divine and unite with It, do they mean to know the Lord and unite with Him? So, do we look to know Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as the Divine, and unite with Them by offering ourselves to Them integrally? I am curious how you understand this and practice this aim of Life. 😊🙏🏻🪷❤️‍🔥
