AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

My parents both have contracted viral swine flu. They are both very old: 74, 82. I am in the US, and they are in India. At this age, I feel guilty about not being there to take care of them. At this age, they have gotten a bit more obstinate than usual and it’s tough to negotiate with them on the phone. 👵👴🌸🙏 […]

I watch your videos on auromaa and read your daily offerings. I am making this short. What is the best way to send Mother’s blessings to them for strength to fight the virus?

2) I have a strong urge to leave my job here to be in India and then start over, coming back from looking for another job. There are times when I want to choose between two options and it’s very difficult to decide which one to choose. I have seen your recent video regarding this but still have this question because it’s not “Shreyas” or “Preyas” that the decision is to be made.

It is not uncommon that children move to far and distant places for better financial and professional prospects. It is part of the general social mobility and I am sure your parents would understand if someone close in the family tried to explain. To leave the work and come back only with the purpose of looking after your parents may not be the best of ideas. When the child goes abroad, it is understood that it will not be possible to come easily at every little illness. Possibly it would help if you just speak to them once or twice a day, read something positive and pray for them every day. Prayers are the most direct and effective way to put them in contact with The Mother. You can also send them some nice, beautiful quotes from The Mother with a picture of Hers through WhatsApp. Also, perhaps speak to their treating doctor once; maybe also order some fruits and vitamins for them as is possible these days. These little gestures will give them the needed confidence.

The decision to come back should not be decided on such events and circumstances. It should be an inner decision based on how you feel within. If you feel you have had enough of the West and feel an inner calling or a longing to return, then you can undertake the journey. Otherwise, it is better to wait if you are otherwise happy and comfortable with the place and the work you are doing.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

There is a concept of ‘Supreme Self’ which is associated with divine personalities. Can the Mother, with her numerous powers and the role she has taken up on earth for all of us, be included as a Supreme Self? 🌸⚡✨🙏

She is not only the Supreme Self but even more so the Consciousness and Power of the Supreme Self. Without Her the Supreme Self would not know Itself as the Supreme. Without Her the Supreme Self will remain unmanifest as the Being of Sacchidananda. Here is what Sri Aurobindo reveals to us in The Mother about the ..

Whenever I turn my attention inward or close my eyes, a very gentle current begins to descend—what is this? Secondly, during meditation, my consciousness follows wherever this current moves, and at times it spontaneously draws me deep into the heart. 💗🌊🧘🙏[…]

This soft flow is the psychic feeling. It originates from the depth of the heart and flows towards the rest of your nature.

During concentration it is better to go deeper towards the source of this soft current in the depths of the heart. It will lead you to your soul.
