Can you make a video on the life of Sri Aurobindo and Mrinalini Devi? How did he use his Spirituality in his married life, with more details? ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒธ

There is a talk on this subject https://auromaa.org/mrinalini-devi-hh-172/ . There isn’t much that is known on this aspect, but the little that is known can be summarized as follows:

1. Theirs was an arranged marriage in keeping with the times.

2. A deep bond of love existed between the two, though they hardly lived together due to the circumstances at that time.

3. Mrinalini Devi had a deep trust in her divine husband and tried to adjust and understand that he was not meant for a typical family life centred around physical, vital and emotional gratification. His was a life given to higher pursuits and a typical domestic life was not his way. Yet he deeply cared for her and made sure that she is looked after well.

4. They hardly had enough time together physically and the only means was through the exchange of letters, which are a masterpiece of what divinely human love can be. A glimpse into his letters shows us a wide, compassionate heart and a deep understanding of her difficulties. He was always kind and generous, as well as understanding and caring, though not necessarily in the human way.

5. From a passing remark made to an uncle, it is evident that he practiced brahmacharya. Of course, they didn’t have children. This is also evident from Sri C C Dutt’s account soon after his return from the Alipore jail.

6. At one point, he literally asks her if she would be his shakti. He is ready to help and take her along all the way.

7. Though he loved her deeply, his love was always free from all attachment. He could renounce, as indeed he did, all worldly attachments for the sake of his work, especially the Divine Work he had come to do.

8. His famous letters to her reveal his inner conflict, if we may say so, between his love for country and God on the one hand and, for his wife, on the other. Unlike Buddha, who leaves the palace one night, Sri Aurobindo asks her to come along and be his strength.

9. We know that Mrinalini Devi died in 1918 when she had decided to finally join Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry. It was clearly a providential death, though outwardly due to Malaria. We can safely presume that her soul had decided to leave the way clear for him, knowing somewhere that she is not his shakti and their coming together now may well interfere with his further yoga. In any case, Sri Aurobindo’s letter to his father-in-law reveals the deep human love he carried in his heart for her, as indeed for all mankind. Nolini da has immortalised it in his reminiscences ‘Tear Drop in the eyes of the Divine ‘.

10. It is generally believed that she did return in another body and lived in the Ashram later on and was a special recipient of the Grace of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. It is also generally believed that she was with Sri Aurobindo in one of his past lives as well. She was never abandoned, as some historians suggest. It is just that their love was too sublime for our humanity to understand.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Description: A question is often asked about Sri Aurobindoโ€™s wife Mrinalini Devi and the kind of relationship they shared. Thanks to Nirod daโ€™s account culled from various sources, we have enough information to draw a reasonable conclusion. It is a love full of sacrifice and the nobility, depth and tenderness. We see here how human love can be uplifted to rare heights of divinity, a divinely human love so to say or perhaps the love of divine for a mortal person. We are happy to share some of these aspects of Sri Aurobindoโ€™s love for Mrinalini Devi.

On 9th Dec 1972, the Mother said : โ€œ Do not ask me any questions about the mind; I am no longer interested in it. I am concentrated on union with the overmind.โ€ What did she mean by it? Wasnโ€™t she doing yoga of the cells at that time? And why didnโ€™t she want to instruct the disciple about the mind? ๐Ÿงฌโœจ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

It is about establishing the principle of the Overmind fully in the cells as part of the cellular yoga.

As to giving instructions about the Mind, all that She had already done in abundance. To keep asking that would mean bringing Her back to the Mind which would eventually impact the most important work She is here to do.
