AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

How to make aspiration ardent and one-pointed towards The Mother? How not to treat your talks, Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s writings as an add-on, but to consider them as the core and only means of life. Please guide me on how to follow them sincerely. 🔥🙏🏻

Sincerity grows by putting into practice all that one aspires for. Aspiration is like a fire that is burning in some depth of our being. It becomes one-pointed as the Fire catches hold of other parts. When the mind begins to seek for Truth and Wisdom, the Heart for Divine Love and Life becomes a means for living and serving the Divine, the body itself becoming the yagyavedi; then Aspiration grows and becomes one-pointed. The main obstacles to this process are the ego and desires. The ego must be replaced by the psychic being that should control our nature. The desires must get converted into longing for the Divine. Above all, a referring and offering of all things to The Mother through an inner Remembrance automatically begins to align us with the Divine Will and helps the consciousness to grow one-pointed.

Affectionately,

Alok da

My 8-year-old daughter wanted to understand the meaning of this quote by Sri Aurobindo. Can u please explain? The ideal Yogi is not a withdrawn and pent-up force, but ever engaged in doing good to all creatures, either by the flood of the divine energy that he pours on the world or by himself standing in the front of humanity, its leader in the march and the battle, but unbound by his works and superior to his personality. 🌼🙏🏻

It means that a yogi is not someone cut off from life and work and people. He engages with everything but in a new and different way. He has access to a greater divine knowledge, a truer divine love, a more intense divine …

I am enjoying your talk on Krishna and the elegant way you weave the work of Sri Krishna into our very own Lord and the Mother. Although far from the Ashram, your words help ground me in my aspiration. If I may, I would like to add a small suggestion. 🌍🙏🏻[…]

Thank you for the kind and beautiful words. I fully understand your love for America. It is a good sign, the sign of patriotism which is itself Sattwic in nature. It is also true that an individual can experience and realise the Divine Presence anywhere and everywhere, in everything…
