AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am easily affected by others opinions and suggestions. For example if someone tells me one thing I start believing that but if someone else tells me something quite opposite of that I start doubting the first one. How to develop my own individuality in which I can take my own decisions (after listening to all) even if it appears wrong to others🤷‍♀️?

Yes one must develop individuality by taking the charge of life in one’s own hands. We are often afraid to do so partly because we are afraid of making mistakes and second because we avoid taking responsibility for our actions. What we need to cultivate is faith and courage, two foremost qualities of the soul. The faith that we need is that the Divine is guiding and leading me through everything and if I keep my trust in Him then He will carry me through everything, turn difficulties into opportunities, mistakes into pearls of wisdom,  errors as stepping stones upon our journey. Have courage and move through life with faith in yourself, in destiny, in God.

Along with that fix a clear goal for yourself, an ideal and try to see life, events and your choices in that mirror, whether they are aligned or not aligned with your highest ideal. Then you don’t have to look up towards anyone.  Rather as you continue people will respect you for your integrity and start looking up to you.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, there is a professor at IISC who is a sadhaka in the sampradaya of Madhvacharya, and he says that, according to him, the way to find your Swadharma is to do what you can persistently despite failure. I want to ask, is this a good way of practically knowing, or is it too reductionist? And according to you, what can be the best practical way for a young child?🧒📚✨🌱

That is one way of looking at it. But a slightly negative and outer way of looking at it. There are plenty of things we do which do not involve success or failure. We do it because we find a natural joy in it. This spontaneous joy …

Is drinking small quantities of alcohol really that bad? Most people I know consume alcohol in some measure. I noticed that the ones who quit it completely face backlash from Society. For example, I heard business people say that you can’t trust a person who doesn’t drink. 🥂💬🍸🎶[…]

It is not a question of good or bad from a moral point of view. But drinking alcohol is certainly harmful for the physical, as well as psychological and I would even say spiritual health. The list of physical problems is too long and generally too well known to elucidate. …

Yesterday suddenly realised during my prayer with my mother that the seat of the Psychic Being is Highar Vital, in the Hridaya Chakra. Initially, I feel Peace, Bliss and Delight up to the Vishudhi Centre. Suddenly realised that my heart has received The Mother’s Peace and is spreading to all the centre of my all the inner parts and similar to the mother light also. Suddenly feel that the heart centre is doing everything. Alok da, is our Sadhana going in the right direction? Please guide me. 🪷✨💖🕯️

Yes absolutely, the psychic being is behind the heart centre and when open and in the front then all becomes easy and natural.
Your prayer is a beautiful psychic prayer and the yoga going in the right direction.
