AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

At present, I feel confused about what path to take and what kind of work would be suitable for me considering my health condition and educational background. It has been my heartfelt aspiration to live in Pondicherry, as I feel deeply connected to The Mother and Sri Aurobindo. I stayed in Pondicherry for one and a half years earlier and now ๐Ÿชท๐ŸŒณโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿค

I visit frequently with my parents during Darshan days. I am 31 years old and have completed my Masterโ€™s degree in English. I previously worked in the corporate sector in Chennai but left the job as it did not feel aligned with my inner calling.ย I sincerely wish to settle in Pondicherry, but I understand that I must engage in meaningful work to sustain myself.

I humbly seek your advice and blessings. Please guide me as to how I may move forward in the right direction and live a life aligned with the teachings of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo.

One doesnโ€™t need to live in Pondicherry or join the Ashram to pursue the goal of Integral Yoga. It is only if one has the calling for work of the Mother and is ready for any kind of hardship and sacrifice that may be needed in the course of living here that one should join the Ashram. The yoga of Sri Aurobindo can be practiced anywhere but because it is the central place, the play of forces and the intensity of the Supramental Force is very strong. Here a lot of physical and psychological balance is required. So for you I would advice to continue the sadhana where you live, join and work in some nearby centre and visit the Ashram here from time to time.

Affectionately

Alok Da

It is the struggle that most people of the new generation feel. The simplest way to deal with these things is to stay focused on your goal and not try to change people, however significant or close they may be in your life. To try changing others or to expect them to….

Namastey Alok Da, I was reading some predictions related to Pakistan and China by Mother and Sri Aurobindo on the website, Was the Mother referring to a future event that is yet to manifest, or was this vision specific to that time period and did not occur due to divine intervention or a change in the working of forces? Is there any future possibility where China might invade India?๐Ÿชท๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฎ

She was referring to a possibility, a possibility that was strong at that moment as well remains a risk for the future. Sri Aurobindo also said that they are very restless and saw the threat of Red China invading India through Tibet. As long as the Communist party …

I have been living away from home for almost 9 years for my studies, and currently study in a foreign country. I usually donโ€™t get much lonely and even if I, I get comfortable on remembering the Mother. But for sometime, I am getting too emotional on festivals such as today, which usually results in a fever and impacts my work. How should I deal with it?๐Ÿก๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿงธโ˜•

It is most likely the result of home-sickness arising out of loneliness. Certain circumstances and situations are typically associated in the mind with home or the place where one grew up. They remind us of the fact of being …
