AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I had a dream two weeks ago. At first, I thought it was just an ordinary dream, but it continues to stay in the back of my mind. I feel it holds some meaning; please explain.😴🌜💤💭

In the dream, I was walking in a busy area of the city where I live. It was nighttime. Suddenly, I saw flashes of lightning in the sky — but then I realized it was fighter planes engaged in a dogfight. The scene was that the enemy had invaded our inner airspace, and the IAF was fighting them. Strangely, I was the only one seeing this; the people around me were unaware, not even looking up. They were busy with their work and kept walking, totally oblivious to what was happening above their heads.

At that moment, a fighter plane crashed near me. Surprisingly, it was a single-propeller plane from old times. In the cockpit, I saw our brave IAF pilot, but with him were two small children, perhaps three years old. I quickly rushed to help him. He told me he had to go and complete his mission. I said to him, “Let me take care of the kids; the commune will look after them.” But he refused, saying, “The people are selfish.” Then, he took off again to continue the fight. I returned home, telling myself, “He is right — we are selfish people. He is defending us, yet we cannot even take care of his children.” The dream ended there.

Yesterday, I had another dream. I was at a beach — a strange, yet beautiful and pleasant place. I walked slowly towards the sea, then started swimming and diving deep into the water. I was able to breathe underwater, and the water wasn’t corrosive or salty; it was sweet and soft. I vaguely remember seeing large whales or some other big fish. It was a very peaceful and joyous moment. Then, the dream ended. Please explain the meaning of these dreams.

The first dream is clearly a dream experience from your immediate past life. The second dream is an actual excursion in the higher vital worlds.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I read this little passage from The Mother. I want to know whether Sri Aurobindo is talking about Radha or the Hladini Shakti here. If not, who is the Power of the Mother mentioned here?: 📖😊🙏🏻🌄🌼[…]

Fortunately this question was asked to Sri Aurobindo though in different words. We have a clear, concise and complete answer from him on this issue. The letter is as quoted below.

‘In the Chandi the names of the four Cosmic Powers of the Mother—Maheshwari, Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati—are mentioned along with others, but the name Radha is not mentioned. This is a clear proof of the fact that when the Chandi was composed the Radha-Power was not manifested to the vision of the saints and that the Chandi mentions…

Today I had a remarkable dream. I felt that something profoundly spiritual had happened to India. It seemed that Mother India, the Divine Feminine Power, had become firmly established in the nation, and that a deep realization had awakened in the collective consciousness of the country. 🗺️😊🙏🏻🪷🌄[…]

This is not just a dream but a dream vision. It is true to the details. Yes, Mother India is rising to reclaim Her Glory and redeem the world. The other woman is clearly the anti-divine forces whose time has come. They are angry at the rise of India’s glory and know …

In her prayer of May 17, 1914, Mother writes, “One day thou wilt be my head but for the moment turn thy gaze towards the earth.” When a disciple enquired what the phrase “thou wilt be my head” means, She answered that “The head is the original conceiving Consciousness. “Could you simplify the meaning of all this a little further for me? 📖😊🙏🏻🌼

Head is the hub that conceives whereas heart is the hub that impels towards action.

What the Mother seems to be experiencing here, in this prayer, is to withdraw from everything including all action. She wants to be completely one with the pure Consciousness in its origin. But the command for her is…
