AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I had a vivid dream after a long time, but I only remember parts of it. After reading Tales from Shakespeare, I had a layered dream: losing track of time at a cinema, then being taught acting by two friends while spontaneously translating Homer’s Odyssey, alongside vivid imagery of a bizarre zig-zag skyscraper and strange facial distortions that woke me once I questioned them. 🌙📖🎭[…]

How does one discern whether such dreams are merely mental-vital carryovers from daytime impressions or carry deeper symbolic significance? Could specific elements—like the names of my friends or the epic recitation—be conscious communications from within, and how do we distinguish genuine inner symbols from ordinary dream flotsam?

The dream was, in all likelihood, triggered by the reading of Shakespeare’s book, giving you a glimpse into his mind, which is the many-tiered zigzag building. The shape and structure that you glimpsed from afar are his creative stories that are difficult to conceive upon earth. Soham is the conceptualising and imaginative faculty, the consciousness that composed these fascinating tales. It was certainly a contact, a glimpse from your mind into the mind that gave birth to these stories.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The difference between thought and action is a most common difficulty. Its reason is not that the physical mind gets into an obsessive mode. It creates difficulty in decision, an indecisiveness because the mind wants to know with certainty that the decision is correct and the action will bring the desired results.
