AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I have a little confusion about the method of reading Sri Aurobindo within my short life span. I have developed aspiration to complete the main books The synthesis of Yoga, the Life Divine, Savitri, Essays on the Gita and the Upanishads. I am now 71 years old and would aspire to complete before I leave this world. All the books I have partially read and could not complete. Should I read the books one by one or earmark different timings in a day for different books?πŸ“–β˜€οΈπŸͺ·βœοΈπŸ”₯ [conti]

I started reading from the age of 22 with the books like Bases of Yoga , the Mother and books of Dr A S Dalal and also regularly All India Magazine. When I read the books , I remember Sri Aurobindo at the back of my mind. Even though I do not understand Savitri, I read the book as Prayer and Mantra.Kindly guide me how to read Sri Aurobindo.

Beautiful aspiration. I am sure your aspiration will be fulfilled by Her Grace. It will be better to allocate different times in the day for reading different books. Essays on the Gita, The Synthesis of Yoga, The Life Divine, Savitri should be good.

Prayers and Meditations is wonderful. It is a good idea to include The Mother by Sri Aurobindo in your readings.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am not sure how this impression came across that this saying is about gods and deities. It is indeed, as you say, one of the main foundational principles of Sanatana Dharma, yet one of the least understood as far as its practice is concerned. …
