AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I have recently discovered that fear is the worst vice I have. I think it is my shadow. In my daily life, I don’t run away from challenges, but sometimes, due to fear and anxiety, I am not able to do my work as well as possible. 😟🌸🦋[…]

Sometimes, I also feel scared at night for no reason. I pray to the Mother before going to sleep, but still the fear doesn’t go away fully. I really want to get rid of this trait, but I don’t know how to. Could you please suggest some practical means to overcome this?

Fear stems from the sense of loneliness, the extreme sense of loneliness that comes when one feels it due to separation from the Divine. Its antidotes are faith, aspiration and love. Ask the Mother for an unshakable faith. Aspire for Her closeness and, if it is difficult to aspire, then pray. Write a prayer to Her everyday, the prayer that comes spontaneously in your heart. Read Their works, especially Savitri and Prayers and Meditations, sit for sometime and look into Her eyes, take Her Name inwardly. This will help you grow closer to Her and love and devotion will blossom. With this triple power of faith, aspiration and devotion – Trishula, you can conquer every fear.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
