AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I have two questions about keeping an inner contact with the Mother and the Lord. Since a while ago, I have been observing something in myself. When I am free and watching some content for entertainment, I cannot watch it for too long. I feel an inner discomfort and my heart and mind crave to go back to the Divine. I feel much better when I read something from the Mother and Sri Aurobindo or when I listen to your talks. The problem is I want to be in contact with the Mother and feel her Presence but I don’t want to be completely disengaged from life either. Is there a way to reconcile both or should I avoid such activities?🧘✨🕯️💎

Secondly, I am trying to offer all my activities to the Mother but since I am a teacher, I often forget to remember and offer since I have to talk most of the time. Since your work involves talking and engaging with an audience, how do you manage to offer your work to Her?

It is a sign of spiritual conversion that many of the old things which we enjoyed earlier begin to lose interest or simply drop off like old wornout garments. It is a release, a freedom from bondage to old habits and vital enchantments and should be welcomed as such. The pull towards the Divine must come first and foremost even if it means some kind of loss of interest in life as it is or rather was. There is no need of trying to balance. A new balance will automatically emerge out of the new consciousness that seems to be growing in you. The re-engagement with the world and outer life will happen through a constant inner reorientation as you grow inwardly closer and closer to the Divine Mother. Certain things will keep dropping off on the way, certain new elements will emerge in your nature and personality and, certain old movements will continue but now with a changed new outlook and a new understanding.

As to the inner contact, what is important is to offer the activity to the Mother before starting with an aspiration that may it be She who speaks and acts through you. During the work just be a quiet passive instrument as if She is using it. Finally offer your gratitude to Her when she action is over. Slowly a background consciousness will develop in you in which it will be easy for you to feel Her Presence.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Jay Maa, I have been reading Savitri for last few years, recently I heard that people also write passages from Savitri daily as a part of their Sadhana. Can you please explain about how it has different effect than reading Savitri?📜🤍🕊️☀️

Reading silently, reading aloud, hearing, writing are all different forms of connecting involving different pathways in the body and workings of our consciousness. Hearing is passive reception but it spreads in the environment, …
