I said that it is mentioned in spiritual literature that it takes almost 12 years for the basic purification to take place before one is ready to take off properly. It may take long or short, depending upon the sincerity. Also, one may have some experiences to keep one going, but the major experiences await the purification, as it may upset the whole system.
Smooth does not necessarily mean that there are no more difficulties. The forces of earth nature do not concede so easily. It simply means that the fundamental difficulties, such as of doubt, fear, etc., are over. Faith is fully established and the fire of aspiration is burning bright regardless of outer situations and circumstances.
