AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I need your clarification on one point. Is our destiny predestined, or we create our destiny on the basis of the choices that we make in our life🤔?

At the highest level the lines and the steps of destiny are all determined. However at the level where we operate it is better to take it as a consequence of the choices we make. We can say that there is a relative freedom given to each thinking creature to choose his path but whatever be the path he chooses, he cannot go beyond the ultimate truth of his being and the eventual destiny fixed for him.

It is somewhat like a role given to each actor in a vast cosmic play in the theatre of life with ever changing scenes. We can play the role well or play it badly, we may need lot of learning and practise or less, yet the successive roles and the scenes and sequences are fixed. In simple words, human will has been deliberately left free though only to a certain extent and our choices do matter. That is the whole basis of the law of karma.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It means that it is better to live according to your own inmost impulsion of truth, even if it brings outer failure, than to achieve success by following a way of life that is not in tune with your own inmost truth, even if it brings success. ..

I am unable to understand this said by The Mother. Please explain to me: “You must use everything for the purpose for which it is given, otherwise you commit a crime. I am not speaking merely of physical things. All the inner things that I am giving you all the time, all the strength, light, energy and life that are being poured into you all the time, are meant for the service of the Divine, for the sake of transforming you. If you use them for any other purpose, you are a robber and your crime is the worst possible.” ~ The Mother (CWM 13:183)

It means that all the capacities that we have, – physical, vital, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, should be offered at the Feet of the Divine for His Work and Service. Most of the time however we take these capacities to be …
