AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

ย I still get emotional and start crying when so ever thoughts of my parents come to my mind. I know and understand that they are with Mother now and that this is not the end for them, but it still takes me some time to calm myself every time. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ’›[…]

I also feel unwanted anger when someone says something harsh to me at that time. I frequently have dreams about my parents since their demise. Is it normal to have such dreams? What should I read or do to keep myself calm and avoid these unwanted mood changes?โ€

Though our parents leave us outwardly, they are always with us in an inner sense. Our body is made through the force of heredity they have transmitted and our mind and personality are shaped to an extent by their influence. The best homage we can give to them is by using these gifts to make our life beautiful and ever progressing towards some higher ideal. They would be happy to see us happy and progress, to say the least. Hence, the best we can do by way of expressing our gratitude towards them is to stay simply happy and turn our energies towards progress. On the other hand, if at all they are watching over us in some way, as some people believe, then too they would only be saddened to see us sad, isn’t it? So whichever way you look at it, the best thing we can do about their love and care is to lead a happy life that is always progressing ahead.ย

We can also turn their memories into some concrete activity, doing something beautiful in their name as some people do.

But the best and the highest way is to understand that the Divine Mother and the Lord are our true parents. The physical parents have shaped our body in one life, but the Divine Parents have not only brought our true being, our soul, into existence but nurtured and nourished it through all the challenges across lives. The relation between us in our deepest truth and the Divine Parents is permanent, across lives and we should spend all our time and effort to forge, strengthen and seal this relationship between us and the Divine. And, I am sure, this will surely make your departed parents also very happy and fulfilled.

Affectionately,ย

It is the inner motive that matters in spiritual life. One may stay away from an activity because one is afraid of meeting people, or one may stay away because one cherishes and values the inner Peace which is a gift of the Divine Grace, or one may stay away simply because certain activities do not naturally engage us as they are not in…

How can one free oneself from the attachment to work and yet have the confidence and certitude that whatever one is one is called for will come true someday? As one often keeps generating so-called (mental) ideasโ€ฆ but many ร  times they land nowhere. ๐Ÿคฒโš–๏ธ

Attachment to works is because of the results we want or expect from it. The result may be gross such as money or subtle such as recognition. Either ways it binds and deflects us from the true purpose of works which is, first, to grow and evolve towards the Divine. Secondly, when one has grown into the Divine then its purpose is to fulfil the Divine Will upon earth. Individually it means becoming a channel and instrument of the Divine….
