AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I was listening to your recent Savitri audio, What does Sri Aurobindo mean by “double twilight?”πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ“œβ™ΎοΈπŸ€

Twilight as we know is the meeting point of darkness and light. The first twilight is when night is dissolving in the growing light. It is the realm of the gods who enter into the cosmic play and inspire man with hope and aspiration and faith, helping him to move forward towards the great goal on the path of Truth and Immortality and the future Perfection. After death, the human soul passes through the outskirts of these realms as one glides on a river while watching beautiful sights and sounds on the banks. It is the realm of the Ideal that the mind conceives from afar but only in snatches and glimpses but unable to realise it upon earth.

The other twilight is when the light that had entered the earth is being increasingly overpowered by the Night. This is the realm where all the great hopes and ideals and happy dreams and efforts towards perfection lie shattered and broken by Death that chases and closes upon earth. This is where the ideals are tested against the hard realities of earthly life. It is in this ground which is where Death and darkness have their stronghold that the Light must win and victory must be established.

Man starts his journey with the hopes and ideals but as he moves on through life, Death begins to whisper its dark gospel to discourage the journey and keep us tied to earthly limits and the ignorance. Savitri, the Divine Power labouring upon earth counters them on our behalf. Finally Death, in desperation, shows all the past failures of the great earthly hopes and the fate of the Ideal. He bids the soul to abandon effort. But ultimately Savitri wins the victory for earth and man.

Affectionately,

Alok DaΒ

Probably 4-5 years ago, I had read a book named ‘Immortal Talks’ by an author named Shunya. Last time I checked, the author hadn’t revealed their identity. So the book is about Hanuman and how He imparts the ultimate knowledge to this particular tribe of people every 40 years and the story revolves around it. You can call its genre fiction. As I read that, I felt such a deep connection with Hanuman. πŸ“–πŸΉπŸ›•πŸŒ„πŸŒ»[…]

It is not a dream but a real contact with the ever living legendary Hanuman who continues to help the simple hearted devotees upon earth to turn towards dharma.Β
