I think I’m not able to separate my thoughts or feelings as something other than me. Would you kindly suggest some ways or practices I can follow for this, if any?
It comes by practice: the practice of watching over one’s thoughts and feelings, one’s will and impulses, most importantly, to dig out the hidden motive behind the apparent outer justification. It is difficult in the beginning because of insufficient light. Reason is a poor, ill-lit lamp in this regard. What is needed is to grow the torch-light of sincerity and the fire of true aspiration. As the flame of aspiration grows and mounts, we begin to get spontaneously detached from these habitual surface thoughts and reactions. After all, at some point we have to make a choice, a choice of what we truly value, – the temporary, transient satisfactions or the permanent Divine.ย
Affectionately,
Alok Da
