AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

In earlier time I was feeling devotion, faith, gratitude and surrender to The Mother. My mind was constantly remembering her. But now that isn’t happening. Mind is creating doubt, vital being feel restless, a lot of ambition and sexual desire arises and they give pain in my lower abdominal part. I see that doubt and desire coming from outside constantly and with offering it also coming. Now I feel that this is not the problem of my nature and and other, it is the whole universal problem. What should our right attitude to passes through this stages. And how long the  battle will occur and what is the next thing will happen after this stages 🙄?

These things or rather this phase comes to every sadhak especially if one has taken to the Yoga at a young age when the vital drives are strongest. That is the age old wisdom that people should take to Yoga after they have experienced life a little going through the experiences natural to each age until they are fully ready.

In any case the best way to deal with these things is not to give them so much importance, to detach oneself from these movements when they arise saying to oneself that this is not what I am, to turn the mind away by staying busy, sublimation of energies into sports or physical exercises and education, and calling the Mother’s Name if the struggle gets too intense.

As I said if you are too young it may be helpful to go through life experiences so that some of these tendencies get weakened and exhausted. Plenty of people practice yoga as a person engaged with different aspects of life such as taking up a Job, going through a relationship etc and it is not necessarily always a bad idea.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I won’t go as far as calling her a Mir Jafar though there are plenty of them in India. But it is truly a pity that ambition and need for limelight has taken the better of her. Ambition is always a dangerous bedfellow to the true spiritual life. Unfortunately, people driven by ambition get blind especially when the ambition justifies itself in the garb of changing the world. Taking a leaf from Sri Aurobindo’s early life they believe a political revolution will ..

The CJP protests have rocked the capital of Delhi and violence has not subsided even on the fourth day. One is forced to the conclusion that the government has already been psychologically defeated because it is refraining from using even the right force/violence and hence has failed to contain the rowdy crowds, who have now been exposed as mobsters and gundas and not students at all. 🪧🤨🦋🍂[…]

I quite understand this. But there is behind all this a realpolitik going on. There is a time to wait and prepare, and a time to strike. The government is buying time while it is discovering the Achilles heel of all involved. Surely the government has its own Achilles heel which strangely is being saved by the protesters, perhaps unwittingly. ..
