AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

In the third chapter of The Mother, it is written: “Regard your life as given you only for the divine work and to help in the divine manifestation.” My question is: what is meant by ‘divine work’? We do household works mainly and rarely do we go out. Do I understand by this that whatever work we do should be considered as Mother’s work? 📖🪷🙏🏻 […]

Can I write from Sri Aurobindo and Mother’s writings in a notebook? How shall we manage the day so that we can be in ” constant progression in divine consciousness”?

Divine Work is the work given by the Divine that we are originally meant to do. But it takes time to grow conscious of this unless one joins a place that has been directly started by the Divine, say the Ashram, Society, Auroville, or has been given by the Divine or His genuine representative, or it emerges from within as the spontaneous urge impelled by one’s swadharma.

Yes, writing letters to Sri Aurobindo and The Mother in a notebook is a very good way to come in contact with Their consciousness.

The mainstay of progress in the sadhana is to ‘Remember and Offer’. Remember The Mother as often as you can and offer whatever you do to Her. The offering should include everything: waking up, sleeping, eating, walking, bathing, cooking; in short, whatever you do, start it with an inner offering to Her and, on completion offer it again to Her. It will open your life to Her and take you to the Work the Divine intends to be done through you.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is quite possible what you say. The simplest way to prepare the brain is by reading Sri Aurobindo. Similarly the simplest way to prepare the heart and awaken the soul is reading and meditating upon Prayers and Meditations as well as Savitri….
