AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Looking at my Bhabhi’s cruel behaviour during my father’s last days, I am unable to understand: What am I supposed to practically learn from her bad behaviour and this entire situation? How do I stop these painful memories from affecting my body and mind? 🥀😢💔

We have to learn only from our behaviours. We are responsible only for what we do and not for what others do. This is the first fundamental lesson of life.

What your Bhabhi has done goes with her. Each one faces the consequences of their actions. But by constantly harbouring ill will for her, you are generating wrong karmas for yourself. Ultimately, ill will returns to haunt the originator. In your own best interests, you should step out of this state of brooding negatively. It will help none, rather hurt everyone. On the other hand, if you respond to the whole incidence with forgiveness and surrender to the Divine Will, trusting in the Divine Providence, then you will, by invoking the higher forces, not only clear everything but also help your departed. Imagine how much they would be suffering to see you depressed and in a state of quarrel with your sister-in-law. Think about them and bring a state of peace and harmony to you and your family. Pray to Her Grace to give you Peace and turn your mind away to constructive and higher things.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The Divine is in the heart can be felt very intuitively. When we address ourselves as I where do our hands naturally go? To the centre of the chest, isn’t it? Something in us feels that our true centre is there. Also despite the challenges of life we keep striving for some kind of an ideal state, ideal love, perfect knowledge, true harmony and peace and all the rest. We seek these things in ourselves and others even though nothing…

There are plenty of such instances such as the assassination of John F Kennedy who despite his personal deficiencies, was a good divine instrument but was killed. Such instances are there in the Mahabharata as well. It naturally raises the question of Divine Omnipotence in some minds. But what we need to understand is that the Divine does not act in a vacuum. There is something called as the human will, – individual and collective. It..
