Even after trying coming back to the spiritual path I can’t come for a long time and again get distracted. Sir, can you help me with this? What shall I do? How can I overcome these obstacles and how to come back to the spiritual path? It’s very difficult for me these days. There is always pain or regret because I am not doing what I’m aspiring for. Sir, please help me with this.
These phases come in every seeker’s path. It is the test of spiritual life, if you want to put it that way. The test is simply to see whether we truly seek the spiritual goal. What one has to do when these dark phases come is to keep remembering the Divine Mother and refuse, absolutely refuse to give up. Instead, one should endure the difficult passage and persevere greater than the difficulty. Victory comes to him who can keep his faith through the darkest phases. These are nothing but illusions of the adverse rakshasic maya that make us feel as if paralysed, weak and helpless by making us slip and fall again and again. But each fall and stumble is a learning and growing. How and why else would you even feel the need to come out! Remind yourself that there is no night that the sun cannot pierce, no difficulty that the Grace cannot pull us out from, no defect that the Divine Love cannot transform.
Here are some words of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo to give you hope and courage as always.

‘Never forget that you are not alone. The Divine is with you helping and guiding you. He is the companion who never fails, the friend whose love comforts and strengthens. Have faith and He will do everything for you.’
- The Mother

‘Strength, if it is spiritual, is a power for spiritual realisation; a greater power is sincerity; the greatest power of all is Grace. I have said times without number that if a man is sincere, he will go through in spite of long delay and overwhelming difficulties. I have repeatedly spoken of the Divine Grace. I have referred any number of times to the line of the Gita:
Ahaṁ tvā sarvapāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ
“I will deliver thee from all sin and evil, do not grieve.”‘
