AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

My question was regarding dealing with colleagues at workplace especially when there are small talks are going on regarding very trivial matters. What should be our approach towards that! If we don’t get indulged in that discussion they treat us as outcasts!! So I was asking how to deal with everybody consciously with a right attitude at workplace which I suppose one of the most challenging aspects of professional life😯?

In the work place, it is best to remain professional and focused on the work. As to people, our interactions with them should be pleasant and full of goodwill. Some go an extra mile and maintain a general attitude of helpfulness and understanding of each other’s problems. As long as it some urgent issue that has come up it is alright, even good since spending long hours at workplace does turn it into an extended family of sort. However some people do use the work place as a catharsis of the personal problems at home. It is here that one should be careful as it may lead to emotional involvement during a vulnerable moment, which is not a healthy thing. It is one thing to be drawn close due to affinities, quite another to engage in close relationship when life is tough. The line between helpfulness and emotional involvement is sometimes thin and its blurring often leads to problems later on.

As to small talk, it is best to remain indifferent unless something is of general interest or of an uplifting nature. Though here too, the less one gets involved in discussions, especially since they tend to turn into heated arguments and animated debates in strongly opinionated people, the better it is. This does not mean holding a tight lip. It means a smiling and benevolent understanding of human foibles, not judging or condescending people for the smallness, yet refusing to be dragged into it.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Regarding the Four Aspects of the Mother, Alok da, I sense a parallel in Sri Aurobindo’s evaluation of various poets in which they excel and in which they lack. Poets like Keats have a lyrical sweetness and beauty but lack vital power and raw force, which a poet like Browning has. 📜✒️😊🙏🏻🪷[…]

Yes. Not only in poetry as you have rightly pointed out, but in everything, in the least atom and grain of sand one can see the working of the four aspects and the Knowledge and Power of the Divine Mother hidden behind it. ..

Today evening while meditating on mother’s organ music on fairy dance, firstly I saw a living mountain having two big eyes and it was seeing all around with those eyes and then a number appeared again and again in that vision it is a number 349 what does it’s means sir.

The living mountain is the physical consciousness under the influence of the Psychic aspiration. 349 perhaps means the 3 lower and 4 higher planes that are embedded or involved within the physical consciousness represented by number 9. The dream implies that your physical consciousness is open to the Divine Influence.
