AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

No matter how much effort I make to organise our home it ends up in clutter, specially inside the drawers and cupboards, I am trying to change and get a bit organised as lot of time is wasted in looking for things but my son as well my husband are also some one who just dumps things in drawers etc, can you please advise as if I organise one corner the other gets disorganised plus many days I am running around and don’t get time to organise 😥?

So it means you have two children to look after as is common in many Indian households due to strictly defining gender roles, – men to earn and take care of life outside, women to organise the home and take care of things related to social and family issues. Things are now changing though. Anyways best if you engage someone to organise these details under your supervision. Also put labels over every drawer and keep reminding until one day it sinks in and becomes part of the system.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
