Please help me to understand, “A mummified mnemonic alphabet”-Savitri, Page 242, line 5๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ“œโ™พ๏ธ

‘Offering its little squares and cubes of word
As figured substitutes for reality,
A mummified mnemonic alphabet,
It helped the unseeing Force to read her works.’The mummified mnemonic alphabet refers to the Reality being preserved (mummified) through sound symbols (alphabet). Alphabets with their sounds are a representative symbol through which the Reality is expressed and preserved in memory (mnemonic). Mnemonics are aids to remember something else that is difficult to preserve in memory otherwise. Mummification is to preserve something that is dead, a once living experience, for example, is preserved through memory in the form of words.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Namaste Alok da. I was reading the ‘Bhawani Mandir’ under Vandemataram, where Sri Aurobindo said, “We will therefore build a temple to the white Bhawani, the mother of strength…” and said that the mandir would be built away from the modern cities, etc. Did he mean to build the physical mandir? And if so, was it built? Or is it more in the subtle space over India? Please could you shed some light? ๐Ÿ›•๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒธ
