AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sir, I had one question related to depression and healing. Are there any spiritual methods or books to help us get rid of these issues? 😥💔🌾🌾

The method that the Mother recommends to come out of depression is to stop thinking about oneself and replace it by thinking about the Divine. Depression comes from a veiled ego that looks at world from its limited experience and perspective and wants life to run its course according to one’s hopes and expectations. Anything that helps us to step out of the boundaries of the little ego-self, work, games, diverting the mind towards healthy activities, serving a greater ideal or best of all, the Divine, the will to progress, urge for learning something new, prayer, aspiration for the Divine, are all so many ways to come out of depression. Easy though it sounds, human nature does not easily leave the grip over old nature. The Divine Grace can eventually get us rid of every difficulty, but we have to persist and persevere with faith and endure the passage. This is so because what we are at present is due to the groves of old habits and attitudes that often get deeply ingrained in our nature. The Divine does not abruptly cut these knots since it would also cut the threads through which we are meant to evolve. He rather undoes the knots and it takes time since very often we keep tying it back.

Have faith and the Grace will eventually pull you out through everything. Persevere rightly and there is no difficulty that cannot be conquered. But one should not expect a magic that may remove the symptoms but leaves the roots intact.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

How can i purify my relationship with the Mother? Asking the Divine for too many things seems selfish and at the same time if i make a promise to myself that i will not ask unnecessary things and face difficulties myself seems not the right thing to do. I feel my relationship with Mother is the most valued thing in my life so how do i make it pure.

Surely we can ask the Divine Mother for what we need. Only our relationship should not be confined to that. One should learn to give, to give out of joy, something of oneself, work, actions, money, something for Her Purpose in …

Pranam Sir. I want to ask about how to deal with negative anticipations, thoughts, and expectations in our daily life. One of my colleagues always targeting me and quarreling with me over each minor issue or mistake and even insults me in front of juniors. He is visually challenged. 🌿🕊️[…]

The best way is to completely ignore him, and if you cannot do so then remain inwardly totally indifferent to him. The best response to people who are hypercritical is complete indifference. The more you try to explain, the more they justify. The more you concede, the more they increase the criticism. But indifference completely flattens them…

What does the chant “OM SHANTI” truly signify—is peace merely the repetition of a sacred word, or a state to be deeply imbibed within the heart? We often define peace simply as the absence of external conflict, agitation, or turbulence, but this surface calmness is only temporary and amounts to nothing more than restraining turbulent emotions. What, then, constitutes real, unshakable inner peace, and how can one truly attain and sustain it? 🕉️🕊️

Peace is not an absence of disturbance. Even inertia is free from disturbance. Peace is something positive and powerful, a fundamental foundational status of the Divine, seemingly equal and non-reactive like Shiva bearing and upholding the dance of Kali upon his chest or the ocean holding its tremendous energy by its own power of self-limitation. maryada. It is a state of concentrated ingatheredness like the mountains or a vast Silence …
