AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sir, there is sadhana after death – the work goes on in the subtle physical world. Only for those who have not developed to that extent must come down again for their development? Or else there is some special work to do on Earth and that’s when the developed souls come for and perhaps to do a special kind of sadhana on Earth…?๐Ÿ•Š๏ธโœจ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ‘ค

The first purpose of sadhana is to get rid of the ignorance and the unconsciousness and recover the soul in all its truth and purity as well as arrive at its full development. That is possible only in the earthly body that is the epitome of unconsciousness. There is also the need of experience through contact with the world energies. After death there is no centralising will to hold the different elements together. They are quickly lost by a process of disintegration. There is no possibility of experience needed for growth and progress. The soul remains half-developed and hence must go back again. Hence the needed return.ย

Of course, a fully developed psychic being can remain on the higher subtle planes and act from there though only to a limited extent because of limited contact with earth nature. If it wants to fully help it is best done by consciously taking up a human body again. We can say that their individual sadhana is over, at least the first fundamental step. They come for joining in the sadhana of the earth or to help in the Divine Work as a conscious instrument or to fulfil a limited but specific mission here.

Following Question:

I think that for most of the people who feel that they have had enough of physical-physical earth as it is right now will not be in a hurry to come back. The psychic body has been formed for many of us: it is not a vague indeterminate thing that has no form and no individualization or no hold on itself and its own substance (which it has accumulated from many lives). Many of us have this feeling that this is not the place right now for us to live – there is nothing here that is not ‘up’ there in the subtle-physical – which is the plane where the New Earth is being formed.

And lastly the transformation is not going to take place organically – but it will be imprinted by a materialisation of the higher planes… and therefore the beings there will naturally live on earth once the ‘heaven and earth’ are united!

It is possible and the formed psychic being certainly has a choice to wait for the new creation to manifest fully and then descend, materializing as the supramental being. Personally, for me, however, it has always been the aspiration to serve Her upon earth. These lines from Savitri are among the most inspiring one for me.

‘O besetter of man’s soul with life and death

And the world’s pleasure and pain and Day and Night,

Tempting his heart with the far lure of heaven,

Testing his strength with the close touch of hell,

I climb not to thy everlasting Day,

Even as I have shunned thy eternal Night.

To me who turn not from Thy terrestrial Way….

Earth is the chosen place of mightiest souls;

Earth is the heroic spirit’s battlefield,

The forge where the Archmason shapes his works.

Thy servitudes on earth are greater, King,

Than all the glorious liberties of heaven.’

It is of course a question of choice. And I am well aware that there are quite a number of psychic beings that are waiting in the subtle physical watching the drama upon earth to unfold.

Affectionately
