Even if one is unable to pray, it is still possible to aspire. Aspiration is independent of belief, even though there is a kind of faith implicit in it. One can also address the prayer to the Divine whom one does not yet know but believes that somewhere He or She exists, even though one does not understand who or where they are. Prayer is not indispensable for the Sadhana. It is aspiration that is needed and it doesn’t require faith in any particular form or aspect of the Divine. To put it simply, even if we do not believe or understand Grace, still the Grace acts if our seeking and aspiration is sincere.
Meanwhile, continue with your readings and practice what you read. The Divine knows Himself in the heart of the seeker and acts based on this deepest inner truth of the seeking within us.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
