AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Some people identify as atheists — they don’t believe in God or any higher power, yet they strongly believe in the value of hard work, discipline, and ethical living. They focus on doing their work and trust that consistent effort will eventually bring good results, more and more money. Interestingly, such individuals tend to be quite successful in life outwardly. What are your thoughts in this? What is the fundamental difference in the way a theist and an atheist live their lives🤔?

Success comes wherever there is sincerity and effort. It has nothing to do with our inner or outer beliefs. I have seen genuine, sincere workers, successful people in both believers and non-believers. Theism and Atheism stand very much on the same level of ignorance. Spiritual seeking goes beyond beliefs and non-beliefs. Many theists are believers by default. They adopt the beliefs and religion of the family they are born in. This belief, on the one hand provides them a framework to operate, a comfort zone to cushion and a support system of believers of the common faith. But its big disadvantage is that often it kills or stifles seeking, often a mechanical and unthinking acceptance of the dogmas of the belief system they are born in. Thus it blocks the path of spiritual progress. On the other hand the Atheist has no such ready made comfort zones and hence he relies on effort and skills and his only instrument Reason. But he too blocks his spiritual seeking by an excessive reliance on reason that relies heavily on sensory data. But since he relies on personal effort lot more he does increase his chances of success.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. 😊🙏🏻🌸🌏[…]

I believed earlier that all of the manifested Universe is a part of the Apara Prakriti. But the Mother says that nature is infra-rational? But then I wonder whether reason is an instrument of Para Prakriti? Isn’t it too imperfect? What is the joining link of Nature with the Mother? 🌌🤔❤️‍🔥🪷

Para and Apara Prakriti are simply two different modes of working of One Consciousness-Force. In its origin it is the Conscious Power of the Divine, also called as the Shakti of the Ishwara. The knowledge in the Shakti or …
