AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sometimes I think that I wish I had done this, or I wish I hadn’t done that. If the circumstances had been different, maybe everything would have been different. I always feel a sense of guilt. Even my mother tells me that if I had done this or not done that, my life would have been different. I am exhausted from carrying this guilt. How can I free myself from it?😔⛓️🫥🌧️

At times I feel greatful that  these circumstances  brought me closer to the mother, even though outer situation is still very difficult. How should I handle this?

Every sensitive person passes through this critical self-evaluation at some point or the other. The simplest way to handle this is to understand that man lives in ignorance and hence he is designed to learn through errors and grow through stumbles and falls. This applies universally. It is only through sadhana that one gets freedom from ignorance and has the knowledge to chose wisely. So the right response is not blame and guilt but feeding the fire of aspiration by the fuel of love and consecration to the Divine so that one slowly eliminates ignorance which is the root cause of all problems.

And yes fortunately, God, the all-knowing Guide uses everything for drawing the soul nearer to Him. As Sri Aurobindo says beautifully in Savitri.

‘Our errors are his steps upon the way.’

After all it is He who has made this world of ignorance with a purpose and, in the last analysis, it is He who takes the full responsibility. If we surrender to Him with faith in the Grace, He wipes away every error and its consequence.

‘Aham tva sarvapapebhyo mokshisyami ma sucah.’

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, how to stop thinking? I mean, continuous thoughts are coming and going regarding useless things. Sri Aurobindo has said we have to watch thoughts and not attach any importance to them, but how should we do that? Or how to calm our minds and think about our Master’s only?🌊🌪️🤯🍃🧠

While stopping of thoughts completely is not an easy thing, it is very much possible to direct the flow consciously towards an object. Thus, you can consciously let your thoughts run around the idea of God, or of a Divine…

Kindly let me know if the understanding below is incorrect: As SAT, CHIT, and ANANDA are the 3 aspects of PARABRAHMAN, meant for the manifestation in our universe, so are the infinite other aspects of PARABRAHMAN meant for the manifestation in many other universes. And that is how millions of universes, of different kinds, have been created by the Divine.🕉️🌌✨👁️

Sat, Chit-tapas, Ananda are the three principle aspects. All other aspects such as Peace, Wisdom, Knowledge, Compassion, Strength, Beauty, Harmony, Love are derived from these four fundamental aspects of the One Infinite. Each…
