No no no. Moral, ethical, social notions have little to do with the true spiritual life. There are number of examples of authentic spiritual Masters whose life itself testifies this.
The real difficulty is with the inner resistances of our human nature. One can have some experiences here and there at times, but serious spiritual evolution needs hard inner work, laying strong foundations of equanimity, inner purification from lust, anger, fear, a thorough cleansing of desires, a freedom from the ego. All this takes time, which Sri Aurobindo is pointing at. He is reminding us to walk upon the path steadily rather than jump at quick experiences that often mislead.
