Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga is a vast and complex synthesis that takes up almost everything into the purview of Yoga. There are the various books of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother dealing with a multitude of subjects touching every sphere of life, showing us how each and every human activity can be lifted up towards Yoga. However, in terms of actual practice, I would recommend mainly the following books that give us the right base about the principles and practice of the Integral Yoga.
Among the Works of Sri Aurobindo, it is best to go through the set of Letters on Yoga CWSA Volumes 28, 29, 30, 31 and the most important volume 32 on The Mother.
As for the Mother’s Conversations, I would recommend CWM Volumes 3, 8 and 9.
Savitri and Prayers and Meditations should be a daily reading for meditation.
The most important key, however, is the ability to open to the Mother through faith, aspiration, and a growing sincerity and surrender. Taking the Mother’s and Sri Aurobindo’s Name is a great help in this process.
Dedicating inwardly to the Mother all that one does is another very helpful key.
As to Savitri, yes, reading Savitri itself is a yoga and if done with sincerity and regularity, it alone can take us to the doors of realisation due to its powerful mantric nature.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
