AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Thank you, Alok-da; small childhood habits like bowing to a dropped pen now clearly feel like quiet groundwork for this realization. It is refreshing to know the Mother embraced makeup, breaking away from the rigid ascetic ideal and reflecting the adorned, joyous divinity of Sri Krishna and Vishnu over mere renunciation. ๐ŸŒธโœจโš–๏ธ๐Ÿ™[…]

I often receive beauty products unasked, and rather than viewing them through guilt or desire, I simply accept them as Her grace and offer them back in Her service.

Yes, the Hindu culture is extremely rich and complex. It is vast and supple allowing any number of variables and variations due to its inherent comprehensiveness and its ability to synthesise the most diverse elements. That is why one can safely say that it is not only the most ancient Religion but also the most futuristic. Its strength is in its universality. But most human beings are not wide. They need certain fixed limits to feel safe and clear boundaries to navigate securely. And no doubt all this helps and is necessary at a certain stage of evolution. But the ideal state is no doubt neither an ascetic shrinking nor in a senseless indulgence. The middle path, a life of inner and outer balance, of moderation, a shunning of excesses, is the best way to prepare oneself for the true spiritual life.

Affectionately,ย

To recognize the insincerities is itself a great step forward towards sincerity. Most people, even in the Yoga or so they believe, are unable to see their own hidden insincerities. It is indeed a Grace and the sign of the true spiritual life growing in you.
