There is so much to read and learn from Our Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s Writings that I feel I am not always able to take out much time. Although I read a few snippets here and there daily but it makes me feel insufficient. I have other responsibilities also as a new mother and family life, which I can’t escape. I listen to your lectures while doing household work, but these days I feel I want to grasp more in the short term, but that also needs focus and concentration, which I am unable to make right now. Sometimes I feel disappointed by myself because I am unable to direct my energy every day to reading and listening. I am just writing you to say that I feel guilty myself for being insincere. Can you provide some practical suggestions on how I can discipline myself more, as sometimes, being in family life, I have to give time to other things also, which might not be important for me, but my presence is needed there.

There is nothing to feel guilty about. Understandably, your duties with the family do not permit you sufficient time to read the Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s writings.

I would suggest taking out just about half an hour in the day to read their works, at a time of your convenience. Or at least 10 to 15 minutes twice a day.

Inwardly take Her Name as much and as often as you can remember while going about doing your daily duties.

Meanwhile, I will add you to the list of my daily messages, which you can read whenever time permits. It includes a few lines from Savitri, a prayer from the Prayers and Meditations, a small passage from the Mother, and a little prayer for all.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The moment the so-called elders meet a young man who’s just into two to three years of graduation, the very first question they ask is “What’s your Package?”. 👴🏼👨🏼‍💼💼🏢🥀[…]

It is not Darwinism but copy-catism if one wants to coin a word. The reason however is twofold. Partly it is due to the strong awakening of Rajas in a society that was, for a rather long time oppressed, supressed and made to feel low, in one word tamas. This is a resurgence of excessive rajas which will sooner or later stabilise and, given the …
