AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

To know is good, to live is better, to be, that is perfect! Please describe with an example. Like if I take anything from my everyday life – from being connected with my children to everything done, I try to remember The Divine Mother. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ[…]

At times, I miss (in appearance, this part feels so separate, speed, time, hurry, ego, etc carried by such things). But what does the above message carry?ย ย Also, in the state of stillness, as observed, I see a flow of vibration and feel so true to being myself! ( And this part is separate) Not sure, but does one get into fatigue or experience it, or when I return to reality dealings, I get frustrated, etc etc. How to work it out!ย

To know is good implies that one should know the way and the teachings as revealed by the Divine Master. One should read, reflect and meditate upon them until they become mints of true knowledge by the fact of experience. This is the first indispensable step.

But naturally, it is not enough to read or meditate and become aware. One must live the Teaching and the truths that are revealed to us. For instance, in the Yoga of Sri Aurobindo a great stress is laid on Equanimity as a basis of all action. To live the teaching means to practice this equanimity with regard to people, situations, circumstances and all the ever-changing appearances of life. Similarly, with other aspects such as faith, aspiration, sincerity, devotion, surrender. All these must be cultivated consciously and their opposite movements such as doubt, anger, hate, jealousy, fear rejected. To live means applying all the truths that one knows by reading books of spiritual teaching or listening to them into practice, in our everyday life. It requires sincerity and perseverance, a steady application of will, in short making a choice between goal and the muddle, between one’s true aspiration and the actual life one is leading.ย

Finally, as a result of living these truths, one begins to change, at first within and next outside. Our nature begins to reflect the truths we have realised within. Our speech and actions become a natural flow of the truth we have experienced and realised and are trying to live. Instead of the struggling, egoistic being driven by desires, expectations, worries and fears, we become a wide and strong and supple instrument and channel of the Divine. A deep Peace and Joy replaces the sting of lust and excitements and desires. A spontaneous knowledge leaps intuitively from within and a vast universal love opens its doors and begins to flow in us. In one word, we not only experience the Divine deep within during meditation, but our entire being and nature begins to become divine through a close identity.ย

It is a whole program of sadhana given in these three words, – to know, to live, to become.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I’m telling the truth when I say I just know for a fact that, despite my limits and flaws, I know I want The Divine enough to do whatever I need to do. When I was sharing that I have doubts, I was observing the hesitation in parts of me in order to acknowledge and overcome it instead of hiding it; I was not choosing or identifying with those doubts. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒธโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ[…]

I know that and there is no question of doubting any of it. I know your love for Them is genuine and so is your wish to serve them. The reason I asked you to take a little time was not for any practical reasons but because we are not made of one piece. The turning and …

Alok da, what is the real significance of Marriage in oneโ€™s life? I feel the social and societal cause is too much of an extra emphasis. Whatโ€™s the truth? ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿชท

Marriage is meant to represent the occult truth of Purusha and Prakriti. It is the coming together of the masculine or passive and ideative with the dynamic and practical aspects of human nature. The soul is beyond gender but our individual nature works along these two lines, masculine and feminine. The soul itself is above gender. But in…
