AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Today I dreamed of 3 or 4 lions lying together and play-fighting in a small room. They were completely unaware of me. I was lying on a single bed in an adjoining room, from where I could watch them. 💭🦁🏡[…]

Suddenly, I became frightened that the lions might notice me and attack. I jumped out of bed and ran outside with my mother, who had been sitting nearby talking to my late grandmother. We went to another house, where I locked the main door, still trembling with fear of the lions.

I then checked my refrigerator. It contained some fruit jellies and sweet candies, which I consumed. After that, I began cleaning it. There were a few rotten vegetables and peels, which I swept onto a plate. The more I swept, the more waste appeared. Eventually, a large pile of greyish-green vegetable waste accumulated. The dream ended.

The lions are the protective power of the Divine. They attack and devour if we are afraid or harboring lower animal impulses. They would generally not attack human beings, as they are sensitive to the psychic being within us.

Cleaning the refrigerator means cleansing oneself of things from the past that were preserved in memory. Good that the cleaning has been done.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

A historian from the early 20th century, Dhan Gopal Mukerji, remarking on historical awareness in India, writes: “Properly speaking India had no history. This is the typical example of defining something in a particular (and limited) way and thereby destroying its truth. If history is merely about the outer story of rulers and kings, generally documented by the paid court historians, then it is simply a narrative of action..

What I meant is simply that you don’t need to act hatefully to act decisively. You CAN see the Divine in the rapist, forgive them in your largeness of mind, and THEN or SIMULTANEOUSLY take an affirmative retaliatory action against them. 🤔❤️‍🩹🌼[…]

You are quite right here. But to answer to someone not on the same page, you may explain it thus that hate, anger, spitefulness, vengeance, vindictiveness etc does not help anyone. The strong ones rarely get angry. They ..
