AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What does Mother mean here: “If you are vigilant, if your attention is alert, you will certainly receive…an inspiration of what is to be done and that you must forthwith proceed to do.” [Questions and Answers 1929 (21 April)]🤔

When I told you just a while ago that you must aspire with a great ardour to do the best possible, at every moment the best thing possible, you could have asked me, “That is all very well. But how to know?” Well, it is not necessary to know! If you take this attitude with sincerity, you will know at each moment what you have to do, and it is this which is so wonderful! According to your sincerity, the inspiration is more and more precise, more and more exact.

As someone not fully changed/transformed, how can one listen to this advice when our head gets mixed up with desires that come from the physical body or mind? Sometimes I feel the advice she gives is difficult to follow because when I procrastinate or get side tracked/distracted while working, I don’t understand why I’m doing it or what it is she want me to do. Other times it’s quite easy and I feel grateful for her blessings and strength to help me follow her path.

One doesn’t have to be transformed to know the Divine Will. One need not even be a great yogi or someone completely liberated from all desires to know what the Divine wants. All that is required is to be quiet, very quiet within and feel the inspiration rising in your heart. The true inspiration from the Divine does not create excitement, it creates joy and enthusiasm. It does not strike us as a thunderbolt filled with the command of God, it carries the certitude of Truth even in its gentlest tones. It does not impose itself as ‘Thou must do this’ but impels you in the direction intended. It is not an impulse pushing us to act but a little nudge, a sweet whisper lost in the loud acts of the drama of life.

Naturally one has to quieten the cry of desires, the wish that things should turn out this way or that. These strong preferences create restlessness and noise that masks the Guidance. That is why the Mother asks us to be vigilant so that we can catch that smooth harmonious note amidst the thousand storms that drown it.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, why do bad things happen to good people? Like, if you are involved in the process of making black money, then you will make more and more, while those who are sincere towards their work and don’t engage in unethical practices tend to make far less money after lots of hard work. 😥💰💔🦋[…]

First of all we must be sure what really is a bad thing. Earning money by dark means is to lose contact with your soul. That is straight road to self destruction. Giving true love to anyone increases the force of love in you. Increase of the energy of love gives natural spontaneous joy. It is not the love that you receive from others that

Sir, Book 1, Canto 4, “The master of existence lurks in us” – This is my absolute favourite, well, for now. I haven’t read the whole Savitri yet, but till now this is my most lovely Canto. I write the whole passage on paper while reading each word; this I do often. 📖📘✒️😊🌾[…]
