It is not a silly question but quite a natural one that arises due to a certain resemble between the two. The resemblance is only with respect to the two intersecting equilateral triangles called as the Star of David or the Shield of David after the legendary king David. He ruled over what now is Israel and was succeeded by his famous and wise son Solomon.
The star does have a symbolic connection with Sri Aurobindo’s symbol in the sense that it symbolises unity of God and Man, and of Heaven and Earth. But then Sri Aurobindo’s symbol completes this aspiration by giving us the secret. The secret of fulfilling this aspiration is in the perfect square representing the Supermind and the lotus afloat upon water which represents the Avatar of the Supermind who alone can bring about this unity.
