AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What is the role of Kundalini awakening in the traditional yoga method and Sri Aurobindo’s yoga? I have read in Savitri that when the Kundalini chakra opens, then psycho-spiritual transformation happens. 🪻🌀[…]

Here I have a little doubt, those who have experienced Kundalini awakening, are their beings transformed?

Awakening of the Kundalini does not transform human nature. It only augments certain powers and capacities by opening the inner being to the cosmic consciousness.

What is described in Savitri is the opening of the centres under the pressure of the psychic being and the descent of the Divine Mother’s Force. Hence, the powers and energies of the centres undergo the psycho-spiritual transformation. The opening of the centres are incidental or a natural consequence of the emergent soul and the pressure of the higher consciousness.

In traditional Kundalini yoga, there is neither the awakening and discovery of the psychic being nor the descent of the Divine Force into the centres. It is done forcibly by the pressure of human will and certain psycho-physical practices.

So the psychospiritual transformation described in Savitri is not due to the awakening and opening of the Kundalini chakras but due to the soul stepping out and the Divine Force descending into the fields of nature. It is this which leads to the change, as well as and including the awakening of the Kundalini.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

This is a resurgence of excessive rajas which will sooner or later stabilise and, given the …
