AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

What’s the meaning behind terrifying snake/dragon/reptile ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฒmyths present in all of humanity?

There are various forces that operate behind the physical universe that we do not sense because of the inherent limitation of our senses. In all traditions there have been mystics whose subtle senses were open and they beheld these forces often, though not always, with remarkable similarity in their form and functioning. We use the word myth because we do not have or have lost that vision. These forms therefore are quite representative.

Dragons represent powerful forces that govern the movement of Time, – both good and bad, often both together depending upon how we view it. Reptiles, in general represent small but often deceptive forces. Snakes represent energies engaged in evolutionary processes, – both good and bad. Thus, for examples, most snakes, especially dark ones represent hostile forces that either impede or restrict (python) or even pose a threat to inner life. Some however such as a cobra, white snake, iridescent snake are positive evolutionary energies that help advance rapidly.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Thank you, Alok da, for answering my question from yesterday on a passage of the Synthesis of Yoga. However, I would like to clarify one specific point based on the understanding I shared earlier. Let me take a hypothetical example. Suppose, for a particular individual, the Divine Intention/Will is that he should go through a life of considerable struggle. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผ[…]

I understand the difficulty. The Vedas speak of basically two operating systems to which we are subject. The first is when we are being schooled in Ignorance, Avidya. Then we operate through the ego which is actually like a shell within which our true soul is developing from its seed state to a realised divinity. During this phase we are given a…

This question is connected to my own sincerity. I find myself in situations where I have to compromise my sincerity and integrity and speak lies for the sake of maintaining my relationships with my friends. I canโ€™t break the relations. But it becomes very hard and extremely difficult for me to be in a situation that needs sincerity and integrity both for me and my friends. ๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿ˜ฅโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน๐Ÿซ‚[…]

Sincerity is a most rare and difficult quality to acquire. Besides it is in relation to the Divine that we must grow sincere. What you mean probably is honesty with regard to friends. If …
