Baba Farid was a Sufi saint of the 13th century AD. He was born in the Punjab province of the then-undivided India. His teachings influenced not only Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs but also Jews and Christians, as he is supposed to have traveled to Jerusalem.Β 

One of the most influential saints of the Medieval Age, some of his poetry is cited in the revered Sikh Scripture, Guru Granth Sahab.
